GIWA 2020: The submission procedure for the international awards has officially opened.

A new initiative with a purpose to recognise and promote the professional achievements of Greek women around the world.

The committee of the Greek International Women Awards (GIWA), announces the opening of the submission procedure for the candidates. This year’s award ceremony will be held in June 2020, in Athens.

The international awards, which will be conducted for the second time, aim to recognise and award, distinguished Greek women in Greece and abroad for their achievements and actions in their professional field.
The founder and president of GIWA, Sofia Konstantopoulou, at the launching event which took place on Friday 17 January 2020 in London, referring to the 2020 Greek Woman and encouraging her to participate in this competition said : “Your work has the power to inspire, energise and move thousands of Greek women around the world. It is better to take advantage of this power and share your story!”

Interested parties are invited to apply for the following categories, through the official website of the GIWA Awards:

  • The Awards jury committee consists of distinguished personalities in their respective fields, from Greece and abroad, that embody the GIWA’s values: excellence, validity, re-spect, productivity, responsibility, transparency and ethics.
    The submission procedure for the candidates which started on the 3rd of February 2020 will continue for one month through the GIWA website

    The candidate selection process for GIWA awards which is based on the principle of transparency, will be supervised and guaranteed by EY, the official auditor. Additionally the public will have the opportunity to participate through public voting on the official GI-WA website.

    The GIWA Powered by Aphrodite Hills which is supported by businesses, organisations and entrepreneurs is under the Auspices of the General Secretariat of Labour and social Affairs for the matters of gender equality and the Greek Embassy of Great Britain.
